Twelve years of pure hard work. Twelve years of stress. Twelve years of memories. All celebrated with a surprise senior trip to London.
The grandparents of senior Hailie Woodring are celebrating her 12 years of hard work with a trip over the Atlantic Ocean.
Hailie will be spending 168 hours in paradise. On this week-long journey Hailie and her grandparents will travel all around the streets of London. They will do many exciting and different things.
Due to the whole trip being a surprise Hailie doesn’t know much of what she is doing. However, while in London Hailie hopes to see some historical sights such as the Big Ben, the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge.
Hailie has never been out of the country before. Nor has she ever been under a monarchy. In fact, the furthest she has traveled has been Florida. So, this will definitely be a switch from her everyday normal Indiana life.
“I am an analyst,” Hailie says. “So, I am excited to watch the Londoners, hear their accents, and experience culture shock.”
With London’s population being almost nine million that will give her more than a couple chances to absorb and watch on her trip.
She looks forward to watching and comparing their behaviors and submerging herself into the London culture.
London brings many exciting and fun adventures to the table.
For Hailie this is not just a physical trip to London, this is also a mental journey.

She plans on using this trip to strengthen her relationship with her grandparents. Due to past family complications, she and her grandparents are just recently getting to know each other. She is excited to forgive and grow with them.
“I’m really excited to go on this trip and explore not just London but myself,” Hailie says.
She also plans to use this trip to help continue to shape herself into a strong young woman.
After her trip Hailie plans to attend Purdue University Honors College in West Lafayette, Ind. Hailie will major in biology with minors in Spanish and forensics.
¨I hope my future is wealthy and healthy,” she says, “with a house on a lake in Tennessee. A dog, a happy marriage, and kids, whose lives I can be a part of.”
