Starting fresh and clean.
Many people want to start the year by trying something new and challenging themselves.
Sophomore Khloe Morris is challenging herself by getting better at volleyball and getting over 144 kills, because that’s what she got last season and wants to beat that number. She made this her New Year’s resolution at the beginning of club season and wants to achieve it by the end of club season.

She plays for Munciana Volleyball Club on a team called Munciana Local 1. She plays outside hitter and middle back.
She is making this goal because she wants to take her love for her sport to another level and go pro one day.
“(I want to) push myself to become better and stay consistent,” Morris said.
She has people helping her with her resolution such as her setter because she has to set Khloe better, and her coach because she is pushing Khloe to become her absolute best..
So far Khloe said she is at about 500 kills for the season.
Freshman Arionna Segraves wants to get closer with God. She’s doing this so her life will be easier and to let all the weight off of her shoulders.
“It makes me a happier and better person overall,” Segraves said.

Segraves goes to the Eaton First Church of God and the worship team is helping her because she sings with them and her family.
Freshman Joe’siah Taylor also wants to get closer with God. He’s doing this by reading his Bible more often.
He wants to achieve this because he said it’s important in everyone’s life.

“It’s making me a better person and changing me for the better,” Taylor said.
He made this his resolution on Dec. 25, 2025. He said it will take him four months to achieve. He’s helping himself with this goal because he chooses to read the Bible and pushes himself.
Taylor wants to read the whole Bible and wants to get closer to God to build a stronger relationship with Him.
“I want to read the entire Bible and gain wisdom from it,” Taylor said,
According to YouGov polling, an estimated 31% of Americans say they make New Year’s resolutions.
The Top 10 nationwide categories for resolutions are exercise more/fitness, save money/spend less, eat healthier, lose weight, spend more time with friends/family, improve mental health/be happier, learn a new skill or hobby, get organized/manage time, travel/adventure, and read more.
