As Maxx is in the science wing of the school, he thinks to himself that he would really enjoy having a career that revolves around the subject. What will it be?
Senior Maxx Martinez is planning to major in neuroscience, the study of the nervous system. Martinez has always loved science.
“My favorite subjects are math and science because in math there are black and white correct answers and in both subjects everything is grounded by rules and laws that make sense and allow reason, ” Martinez said. These subjects also explore the universe itself and how it works which is beyond amazing to learn.”
Included in his love for science, Martinez won the state science fair this year. He participated in the science fair because it was a grade for one of his classes. This was also the first time Martinez had ever participated in a science fair.
“I was truly surprised as I didn’t think I would get first,” Martinez said.
Martinez spends his free time playing soccer and video games. Martinez is also involved in various clubs including his favorite, Best Buddies. Best Buddies is a club that Martinez hopes to continue his education at different places.
“My future plans are to attend either Vassar College or Northwestern University to study neuroscience on a pre-med path and or computer science,” Martinez said.
People might describe Maxx in many different ways.
“ I would describe myself as a sociable person who enjoys being knowledgeable on a variety of topics and likes hanging out with friends,” Martinez said. After Martinez graduates from Delta high school, he will be moving onto bigger things.
